Card Recycler (Prontera, 116, 265)

  • New NPC who can unravel the magic from old cards and reforge them into something new
  • Exchange 5 unique monster cards and 100,000 Zeny for a random card

Advance Punching Bag (Prontera, 224, 79)

  • New training dummy that reports your DPS every 5 seconds
  • Fully configurable — set size, level, race, element, stats, DEF, and MDEF to match any scenario
  • Enter a Monster ID to automatically copy that monster's exact stats onto the dummy
  • Multiple punching bags available in the area so you can test side by side

Priest Buffs

  • Increase AGI duration increased by 60 seconds at all levels (now 120s–300s)
  • Blessing duration increased by 60 seconds at all levels (now 120s–300s)
  • Impositio Manus duration doubled (now 120s) and after-cast delay halved
  • Gloria duration doubled at all levels (now 20s–60s)

Rogue

  • Plagiarism and Preserve now persist through logout — your copied skill will still be there when you log back in

Better Cooking

  • Cooking success now scales with your highest stat — any build can cook effectively, not just DEX builds
  • Failed attempts no longer reduce your Cook Mastery
  • Successful cooks now produce 10 dishes at once instead of 1
  • Cooked food weight has been reduced across the board
  • Cooking kits are no longer consumed when used
  • Added an interactive Cooking Calculator to the webpage to experiment with the new formulas

Wok Master (Prontera Castle, 47, 35)

  • New NPC who serves as the hub for all things cooking
  • Check your current Cook Mastery at any time
  • Exchange Cooking Ingredient Kits for a random assortment of the ingredients inside — useful if you have leftover kits you cannot use
  • Upgrade your Cookbooks (levels 6–10) using Ragnarok Coins and a copy of the previous book
  • Purchase the Chef's Hat (Costume) and Charcoal Stove for Ragnarok Coins

  • Coin trader vending machine stock updated (Kafra Pass, Ashes of Darkness)

Global System Change

  • Enemies now update their facing when they attack. Previously this only occurred as a client side visual, meaning that skills like fire wall still applied knockback based on the last direction a mob moved, and immobile enemies were permanently stuck facing north.

Rogue/Stalker Overhaul

  • Back Stab is now a passive effect, adding a damage multiplier to all weapon attacks/weapon skills when hitting an enemy from behind. Yes, it works if you quickly step behind them between attacks. You always receive the back stab bonus against blinded enemies.
  • Gank now also triggers known strip skills and steal zeny automatically. If full strip is known, this will be fired as an additional check on top of the other strips.
  • Reject Sword updated to function as a permanent toggle effect, works against all melee weapon attacks (not just sword+dagger), and gets a bonus to activation chance based on your dex.
  • Item costs removed from graffiti skills

Lord Knight Overhaul

  • Aura Blade, Parry, and Concentration updated to toggles, only Aura Blade comes with an SP cost.
  • Parry fully reimplemented to get around a client side visual bug (this was SUPER annoying), now also gains a bonus to success chance from dex.
  • Relax reworked to function as a passive upgrade to the "Increase HP Recovery" skill, doubling the healing effect.
  • Traumatic Blow and Vital Strike reworked as passive effects, granting a chance to cause their corresponding status effects to all weapon based attacks and skills. Vital Strike is still limited to spears.
  • Berserk heavily reworked, now with more berserk. It no longer grants increased max HP or a full heal, but instead makes you unable to drop below 1HP until the status ends (effectively unkillable). It also does not end early when HP is low, but has a shorter duration. While in berserk state, you are no longer able to control your character, it will instead go wild attacking any nearby targets automatically. If no targets remain, the status will end early.

Other

  • A new guard NPC added by Morroc's east exit, you can talk to him to be transported to moc_fild20 (the desert quarantine zone needed for the Satan Morroc quest line).
  • Monster+pet dialogue restored (oops I never noticed this was missing)
  • Coin trader vending machine stock updated (Costume gang scarf, some premium consumables)
  • Dungeon Chest loot tables updated with a rare chance to drop "Enriched Elunium" and "Enriched Oridecon"

  • New Homunculus keeper NPC added to the alchemists guild. This NPC allows you to store and retrieve your active homunculus, allowing you to raise multiple kinds without losing progress.
  • Removed trade/storage restrictions from mercenary scrolls.
  • Removed 1 week cooldown from endless tower access. I see some potential for abuse, so will probably adjust this further at some point.
  • Rogue "strip" skills combined into a single skill, with a different effect at each rank. This is only the first step, a significant rogue update is in progress.
  • Paladin "Gospel" skill updated to interact with Divine Protection and Demon Bane, effects reduced significantly (50-75% lower) to balance the ease of use.
  • Elemental stone drop rates reduced from dungeon chests.

  • Like a million fixes to the dungeon quest sync system, let me know if anything's still wrong it was bad.
  • Fixed the "metal fragment" drops from higher tier dungeon chests — there are 2 items with the same name and they were dropping the wrong one, which is an untradeable quest item. There is a "Scrap Collector" NPC on the west side of Prontera fountain who will trade them for you if you have any of the wrong fragments stuck in your inventory.
  • Fixed certain dungeon chest scrolls that were casting infinite toggle versions of skills.
  • Restored cute pet loyalty skills, which were completely missing from the base server pack for some reason.
  • Significantly increased the loyalty gains for homunculus.
  • Adjusted reagent costs for acid terror and demonstration.
  • Slightly dialed back the mount speed increase from last patch.

  • Guild dungeon warpers added near the repair NPC in every WoE hub, so anyone can access them.
  • Eased weight limit requirements further, everyone's base weight limit is raised and the penalty will now not trigger until 90% weight.
  • The rental mounts from the halter item are now faster, but unaffected by move speed modifiers like increase agi.
  • Global reduction to base max SP, shouldn't be super noticeable.
  • Biolabs and Rachel Sanctuary quest sync bugs fixed (I hope?), pass requirements for labs and Amatsu dungeon removed.
  • Fixed missing "sleep" skip options for the airship services at some ports.

New Mage Skill: Telekinesis

  • Trial implementation of a new quest skill for mages (it costs a skill point for now), when toggled on it gives staff type weapons a ranged basic attack that scales off matk instead of str. It isn't very strong, but gives em a little bit of poke damage without casting. Note that it WILL NOT trigger auto effects like the sage's auto spell.

Alchemist Updates

  • Alchemists can no longer have a goblin and homunculus minion at the same time.
  • Added a new "Embryo Advisor" NPC by the material seller in the Aldebaran alchemist guild that will let you choose which homunculus you receive from your next embryo.
  • Slightly slowed the "Prepare Reagents" cast time.
  • Added an additional bonus against plant race enemies to Axe Mastery, as well as the ability to ignore special plant damage reduction (on green/blue/etc plant).

Other

  • Adjusted how MVP drops work. The bonus items are now granted to EVERY player who participated in the fight, not just the highest contributor.
    • Note: you may need to at least damage the boss once to be included
  • Fixed a minor item skill interaction with the auto skill system.

  • Restored player permissions for duel commands:
    • @duel: Starts a duel
    • @invite: Invites another player to the duel
    • @accept: Accepts a duel invitation

  • Restored normal "stone" drops now that they're back to normal.
  • Made it so the clock tower dungeon keys aren't consumed on use.
  • Added @autofeed command for toggling regular pet feeding.
  • Added a small variable cooldown to dungeon chest respawns (they were going kinda crazy on smaller maps)
  • Moved "Preserve" from stalker to rogue and made it a proper toggle skill, sorry rogues this was meant to be there all along Orz
  • Adjusted how MVP reward drops are calculated, so each item in the list has a chance to drop each time instead of only the first one

Alchemist Rework

  • New skill: Prepare Reagent: cast to create "prepared reagent" items up to a limit. These have replaced all ability item costs, no more farming. The old items are still craftable, but no longer used for skills.
  • Pharmacy reduced to a single skill point.
  • All crafting recipes now have a 100% success rate, and do not consume medicine bowls (you just need to have 1 on you)
  • Chemical protection skills replaced with the "full chemical protection" biochemist skill.
  • Homunculus EXP requirements reworked in line with character rates on the server, and EXP sharing with the master implemented to match the UI.
  • Note: I will be adding more QoL next (like bulk crafting and removing the RNG from homunculus creation) but wanted to get this functional update out asap

Other

  • Added Umbala to the unlockable kafra warp portal locations, and made the Niflheim bungee shortcut a 100% chance.
  • Inventory unique items limit doubled to 200.

  • New accessory: Red Cape. +3 flee, grants a new skill (Taunt: like provoke but without the stat modifications) and a chance to pull enemy attention when attacking. Now for sale at the Morroc armor shop for 120,000z
  • Pet loyalty gains nerfed (they were hitting loyal after a single feeding, oops)
  • Sign quest dance minigame adjusted, each step now has 50% more time.
  • Kafra storage capacity increased to 800 (this is as high as I can safely go without crashing the client)
  • Goblin Mercenary minion stat scaling adjusted (much less falloff at high levels, especially for hit rate)

Blacksmith Overhaul

  • Compressed all weapon smithing down into a single skill. Smithing any item now always has a 100% chance of success. Skill and stat bonuses that previously increased crafting success chance now grant a chance to refund consumed materials.
  • Materials processing skills now do not consume a mini furnace, you simply need to have one on you.
  • Repair reworked to match the new item break mechanics, it now cures the broken weapon/armor status effects.
  • Hilt Binding now grants immunity to weapon break and strip weapon.
  • Dubious Salesmanship (the quest skill) now doubles the zeny gained from using Mammonite.

Priest Updates

  • Both Lex spells are now compatible with Demon Bane's automatic casting effect.
  • Most item requirements for casting removed.

Other

  • Safety Wall (both mage and priest versions) now generates its own special gemstone consumable automatically, up to a maximum of 3.
  • Minor description updates to aspd potions and Old Card Album.

  • Expanded the daily dungeon teleport rotation with many more options, including some maps that would otherwise be quest locked.
  • Added invisible cosmetic headgears and Old Card Album to the coin trading selection.
  • Made several fixes to the "sign quest" geffenia unlock chain, including softlocks, time gates, and poorly handled item handins (this thing is a huge mess, sorry in advance if I missed anything).
  • Major system overhaul to add item based auto trigger effects into the custom system with pity bonuses and smoother execution. Please report any strange behaviours this may have caused. This also indirectly buffed a few existing auto skills that were unintentionally receiving a much lower pity bonus.
  • New Feature: Blacksmith NPCs now have a multi refine option, allowing you to set a target refine level and rapidly make attempts as long as you have enough resources. Items will also no longer be forcefully unequipped after a failed attempt.
  • Cleaned up how quest skills are handled after rebirth, maintaining unlocked skills while no longer granting certain others for free.
  • Adjusted cute pet hunger system, pets will get hungry much more slowly now (intimacy gains increased to compensate). Pets that required juice for feeding will now only require the basic fruit/vegetable.
  • Equipment break/strip skills adjusted to apply the same debuffs to players as they do to monsters, instead of interfering with your actual gear.

Quest Sync System

Progress on dungeon unlock quests should now be carried over between characters on the same account. If you make progress on one character, then switch to another, you should see a small message on login telling you that your quest progress has been synched. Note that you will need to initially log in on whatever character has the most progress for the database to be updated.

This is a fairly complex update, so please let me know if you encounter an issue with any of these.

Other

  • Moved the stylist NPC to the house with the resetter because it has more neutral lighting.
  • Removed unintended flinch effect from the new poison status.
  • Set a 30s cooldown on MVP and Boss monsters re-summoning their minions after one has been killed, so you actually get some downtime after removing them.
  • Added bonuses at every 10 points to vit def and int mdef, making these values scale better at higher levels.
  • Raised the vit+int bonuses to HP/MP potion effectiveness, because it shouldn't cost 20,000 zeny in whites to heal to full hp a single time.
  • Significantly reduced the def and flee penalties for being surrounded by multiple enemies.
  • Ragnarok Coin trader NPC overhauled by Obnyis to be much nicer to interact with, all praise the vending machine.

Merchant Updates

  • Cart Revolution and Crazy Uproar promoted to main skills with 10 ranks, quests no longer required to unlock. Uproar has been significantly altered and now gives far higher bonuses at max rank.
  • Merchant Guard and Pushcart reduced to 1 rank each to compensate (with full effect). The guard will be a quest skill eventually, but still needs work. I have a WIP custom AI script ready for testing if anyone wants to try it.

Poison Overhaul

  • The poison status effect inflicted by thief+assassin skills has been reworked. It now does flat damage on top of the percentage damage, has visible damage ticks, and can be stacked up to 10 times to increase the effect. This should make it feel far more rewarding to use and build around. All other sources of poison (including the sinx deadly poison) are unchanged and will still function as official.

Other

  • Quiver crafting NPC restored in Payon with new recipes for endless quivers.
  • Valkyrie NPC storage menu bug fixed.
  • Misleading socket NPC dialogue corrected.
  • Quest text for certain job quests that was showing renewal values has been corrected.

  • Niflheim exit portal restored, kafra moved inside the inn where it's safe
  • Orc dungeon kafra and save point moved indoors where it's safe
  • Comodo ant hell entrances restored as 1 way portals, since the navigation map still points to them (the exits will still lead to morroc desert)
  • @commands like @showexp updated to persist between logins
  • Cute pet tames will no longer run away and be permanently lost when their intimacy is too low, they still get mad tho
  • Headgear stacking exploit fixed
  • Reduced MVP/boss respawn times to half their official values, with a 0-10 minute random delay.
  • MVP/boss teleporting disabled completely
  • Boss and MVP status immunity revoked, and stat based immunity capped at 95% for both players and monsters (immunity from other sources like monster types and cards should still apply)
  • Demon bane should no longer bypass immunities when applying debuffs
  • Paladin "sacrifice" skill works now

  • Kafra employees across Rune-Midgart and beyond have expanded options for permanent warp destinations available to acolytes. Moscovia, Amatsu, Ayothaya, Einbroch, Kunlun, Lighthalzen, Luoyang and Brasilis have been added as destinations when casting Warp Portal.
  • Cool Event Corp have responded to this move by offering the same service in Lighthalzen, Hugel, Rachel, Veins and Verus Excavation Site.

  • NEW COSTUME SYSTEM: every regular equip item can now be used as a costume, just try to equip it to a slot that is already full and it will go into the costume slot instead. The stats will be suppressed while being used as a costume. Just be aware that double clicking an item in your inventory wont automatically swap your equipped items now, so make sure you're actually wearing the thing you wanted and not as a costume!
  • Morroc warp portal coordinates updated so you dont get stuck in a hole
  • Minor adjustments to demon bane and divine protection. DP should scale much better with high int now.

  • Valkyrie rebirth NPC updated, because oh my GOD. She now provides better feedback, offers storage and other services, doesnt kick you out on a failed check, and has looser requirements for initiating rebirth.
  • Old Red Box headgear costumes have been added to the coin trader.
  • Warp portal skill expanded. Now, after learning the warp portal skill, the first time you visit a kafra in any city they will unlock that city as a permanent warp destination for you, without requiring a memo spot. Dungeon maps have been removed as valid memo points, let me know if you encounter maps that have been excluded but shouldnt be.
  • Pierce skill updated to an auto proc, but uniquely has a 100% activation rate, replacing all regular attacks. This effect will not block other auto skills, instead ONLY replacing normal attacks. The damage bonus has been reduced a bit to compensate.
  • Assassin cross deadly poison requirements eased. EDP is now a permanent toggle, and consumable poison bottles now regenerate every minute.
  • Blacksmith toggle aura SP costs removed. I am probably going to do this retroactively for most toggle skills, and balance SP around active skills only.
  • Rare item drop highlight rarity adjusted, it should actually appear now 🙂

  • Quest board altered to allow taking quests on multiple characters on the same account, be aware this will probably break any incomplete quests in progress. Also fixed a tracking bug with repeating quests with the same monsters.
  • Vending skill reverted to original function: 10 skill levels for a total of 12 items. Changing this proved much harder than expected so it'll have to stay like this for now.
  • Sitting regen ramp up slowed down a little, it was TOO quick.
  • SP regen ticks slowed, since the mana cost increase seemed to do absolutely nothing.
  • Provoke enhanced to force enemy targeting more reliably.
  • Armor reduction mechanic altered - Provoke and Signum Crucis are now able to take enemies into negative armor values, causing them to take increased damage. This significantly increases their value in most situations.
  • Suffragium can now be cast on self and maintained with Divine Protection.
  • MVPs will summon minions again (was an unintended side effect of removing their teleport behavior).
  • Adjusted how bonus damage is applied by custom skills so the type multiplier is processed correctly.
  • Non card drops with extremely low drop rates should now also have a sound alert and blue coloured light effect.
  • Several QoL updates to classes:
    • Blacksmith buffs upgraded to toggles with auras, chance for weapon break removed.
    • Wind Walk buff converted to toggle with aura.
    • Create deadly poison skill for assassin cross now generates a deadly poison passively for free every 5 minutes, to a maximum of 1. Enchant deadly poison duration extended to an hour.

  • Auto-proc system overhaul and rebalance. Adjusted how multiple auto proc skills interact to prevent them getting in each others way and potentially lowering damage output. ALL auto skills (including double attack) will activate more consistently now.
  • Removed aoe penalty for auto casted Blitz Beat, and made it able to trigger on top of other auto skills (like double strafe)
  • Reimplemented job 50 quest skips for 2nd job quests.
  • Fixed transcendant job exp requirements, which were 66x higher than intended x_x
  • Replaced the annoying warper voting system with a daily rotation for dungeon warps.
